Maximize Your Commercial Space with Kansas Solar Systems
Kansas Solar Systems is helping businesses harness the potential of their flat roofs by installing ballasted roof mount solar arrays. These commercial solar installations can be strategically positioned for optimal energy generation.
Investing in commercial solar allows your business to generate electricity during peak energy usage hours, significantly reducing your reliance on the grid.
To begin the installation process, one of our certified NABCEP solar professionals will conduct a complimentary roof survey. During this assessment, we’ll evaluate your roof’s structural integrity, identifying loading capacities, potential obstructions such as skylights and HVAC units, and ensuring compliance with Fire Department paths, municipal codes, and shading considerations.
Once we confirm that your roof is suitable for solar installation, we can move forward. If there are significant obstacles, such as shading or other obstructions, you might consider alternative solutions like solar carports or solar-integrated pergolas, which offer the same benefits as traditional roof installations.
Remember, your solar array will remain connected to the grid unless you opt for an off-grid solution. Transform your unused commercial space into a sustainable energy source with Kansas Solar Systems!

Tax Credits & Incentives
There are significant tax incentives and credits available to make solar energy more affordable for your business, including options for battery storage and EV charging stations. We’re here to guide you through your options.
Businesses, local and tribal governments, and nonprofits can access two primary tax credits, but typically, a project owner can claim only one tax credit per property. However, there are exceptions, and the Solar Energy Technologies Office guide on Federal Solar Tax Credits for Businesses offers greater insight on this point.
- Investment Tax Credit (ITC): This credit reduces your federal income tax liability by a percentage of the cost of your solar installation within the tax year.
- Production Tax Credit (PTC): This kilowatt-hour tax credit applies to all electricity generated by solar and other qualifying technologies during the first ten years of operation. Like the ITC, it also reduces your federal income tax liability and is adjusted annually for inflation.
For agricultural producers and rural small businesses Rural Energy for America Program, or REAP, grants are available to make energy efficiency improvements as well as for renewable energy solutions. Further information about REAP grants can be found at USDA.
